Davina & The Vagabonds are amazing. If you haven't seen one of their shows before, it's a must. I've yet to see anyone walk away and not be a fan. Davina has an unbelievable voice and the Vagabonds are a complete performance band. It's a complete show, not just a band on stage.
Mark your calendars now. Come join us right after work for dinner and a show. You won't be sorry.
UNCLE BO'S 800th SHOW WEEKEND!
Blues/Roots/Funk/Jam from Nebraska, $8.00
Kris Lager Band spent a Sunday afternoon with us at the NOTO Blues Festival and received rave reviews. I hope you were able to see them and are ready to see more.
Did you know they spent 2006 - 2009 as the highly acclaimed indigenous blues/rock band with intensive radio play of "Things We Do" while touring with BB King, Buddy Guy and Los Lonely Boys? Indigenous front man, Mato Nanji, even handpicked these guys as his national touring band.
Swagadocious is their latest CD. It's fun and addicting, just like their performances.
Blues/Rock from St. Louis, MO, $8.00
"This album is the most honest representation of who I am," Gomes says of his latest album, Up2Zero. "When I started playing, all I wanted to do was dig deep and play the blues. I wanted to capture that reckless blues power of my earlier catalogue on this recording. I also have a love of melody that you can hear in soul and gospel music, and this CD has those elements as well. Even on the songs that stray away from the traditional 12-bar blues format, you still can hear plenty of B.B. King or Buddy Guy in there."
Blues from Kansas City, Kansas, $15.00

Zydeco from Louisiana, $10.00
Grammy winner Chubby Carrier and his band hit the stage with unstoppable music and fun. If you've never seen this show, shame on you. People start dancing the minute the music starts and don't stop until the evening ends. If the band didn't take a break, the people would probably fall over from exhaustion. It's that much fun.
Blues from Louisiana $10.00
"Braille Blues Daddy" Bryan Lee's regular gig, before Katrina, was at the Old Absinthe Bar on Bourbon Street. He played there for 15 years, during the 80's and 90's. Bryan appreciates his loyal fans and is still touring strong across the United States, Canada and Europe playing the blues with the Blues Power Band, which includes Nick Hern, one of our own local talents. I can't wait to see them.

Jimmie Bratcher refers to himself as "secretly famous," he's really a very gifted blues man and music is his message. He brings a soulful, blues, gospel and funky way to celebrate the holidays. I might even try to find Santa to come in and visit, or it may just be me, so come one, come all to our Uncle Bo's Christmas show.
Blues / Jazz / Funk from Minnesota $10.00
Scottie Miller is traveling on his own through the Midwest, but he can usually be found traveling with Grammy winning Ruthie Foster as her Keyboardist. He was inducted into the Minnesota Blues Hall of Fame while traveling on the Legendary Blues Revue. His style of piano blues has roots in Barrelhouse, Delta and contemporary New Orleans, accentuated with rich soulful vocals. I think you will really enjoy Scottie Miller and his band.
Blues/Rock/ Roots, Houma, Louisiana $10.00
Josh always enjoys making a stop at Uncle Bo's when he's travelling through the Midwest. He brings with him his soulful vocals and emotional guitar work while keeping us up on the flavor of Louisiana. Josh and the band play with a Cajun, upbeat music that will have you up and ready to party. This is another great night for a Christmas Party.
Blues Kansas City, KS $10.00
I think Samantha has entered all our hearts here and we keep coming back for more. Honored by The Blues Foundation as "The Best New Artist Debut," Samantha takes this to heart and works hard for her audience. She brings wicked guitar licks and a band that makes you want to "spank your momma." They are taking the world by storm and we are thankful they stop by Uncle Bo's when they are in town.
Soul/Blues/ Motown Kansas City $10.00
All aboard for the Platinum Express, one of the biggest bands we have had at Uncle Bo's and they always bring the energy with them. They're going to be shaking us up with some new stuff that will keep you on the dance floor. It's a good way to let your hair down before Christmas.
Blues Kansas City, KS $15
Trampled Under Foot, our last band for 2012 and a great way to end a year. For those of you who don't know, they're a 3 piece, siblings act that have been performing all their lives, but finally came together in 2005. From there their career has skyrocketed. It's nice to say they have been gracing our stage since 2006. It's so exciting for Topeka to watch them become the national act they are.
