    Uncle Bo's

Stacy Mitchhart 2Mitchhart’s musical journey began in his native Cincinnati, in Ohio. He developed his sound and stagecraft at the helm of four groups in Cincinnati — climbing the pinnacle of the city’s blues scene. He also began his recording career there, with 1993’s Blues Transfusion. Since then he has made a dozen more albums, culminating until now in 2009’s critically heralded Grown Ass Man and 2010’s Live from B.B. King’s. By the early 90’s he was the top blues act in Cincinnati. Nearly two decades later, that has not changed. Mitchhart’s name is still synonymous with “blues” in the most rapidly growing city along the Cumberland River and he is still playing 200 of his annual dates. Thanks to the international following he has largely built in Nashville at Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar, Mitchhart has also performed in eight other countries.

    Kris Lager Band

Doors open at 6:30pm. Show starts at 8pm

    Uncle Bo's

kris-lager-band-630x420Kris Lager Band is a Nebraska born group of musicians who have dedicated their lives to learning, living, and loving all aspects of the American music tradition. Self proclaimed "Roots Revivalists", KLB brings an eclectic, high energy show to each and every stage they happen to land on. The musical palette from which these troubadours draw upon is strongly rooted in the Blues and Classic Rock stylings, but has touches of Funk, Jam, R&B, barrelhouse Country, spicy Latin beats, cajun Zydeco, as well as Gospel music, and some hip hop thanks to freestylist extraordinaire John Fairchild AKA Scooby Sha Bo Bo. Playing nearly 200 shows a year for the past 5 years, has brought tightness and diversity to every set they play and audiences across the country will agree that Kris Lager Band is on the right path. The band consists of John Fairchild on the drums, Brandon Miller on the bass, Jeremiah Weir on the clavinet, organ, & percussion , and Kris Lager on lead vocals and guitars. With their "Celebrate Life" mantra and good times vibe, every show runs the gamut of human emotions. Joy and sorrow, love and lament are all wrapped up in one musical experience where the only constant is pure Soul. KLB spent 2006-2009 mostly as Indigenous. Indigenous is the highly acclaimed blue/rock act, who garnished extensive radio play with their debut 'Things We Do', and has toured with BB King, Buddy Guy, Los Lonely Boys, and many more. Indigenous front man Mato Nanji handpicked these guys to be his nationally touring band and backed him up on his nationally released 'Broken Lands' CD on Vanguard Records. They have traveled from N.Y. to L.A., and Winnipeg to New Orleans playing a mix of his and their own original music. Check out the show calendar often and if you don't see us visiting in your town let us know and feel free to recommend KLB to your favorite local music venue. This band is a do it yourself, grass roots organization and with your help we can keep honest and quality art alive and vibrant!!

    Jimmie Bratcher - 8pm-9:30

    exchange (1)

"Bratcher’s shows — regardless of location — are worry-free zones, where the healing, good-time mojo of rockin’ blues sets hearts and minds, and maybe even souls, free. His latest album Secretly Famous is fueled by the same attitude. The disc’s dozen tracks are packed with humor, romance, joy and the thrill of finding the same at every turn, plus some real-life reflection. And they’re all buoyed by Bratcher’s gravel dappled tenor voice and his gritty, muscular and deeply rooted guitar playing, supported by his versatile longtime rhythm section of drummer Dave Autry and bassist Craig Kew." Click HERE for more information.

Doors open @6:30p.m., show starts @8p.m.

    BelAirs- 9:30pm - 12am

    BelAirs

Fronted by brothers Dick and Dave Pruitt on bass and electric guitars, with Michael Cherry on drums, the Bel Airs play a danceable mix with an authentic but eclectic bluesy-country-soul-and-rock-n-roll sound influenced by the likes of Wilson Picket, Slim Harpo, Howlin' Wolf and Johnny Cash.

Performing together for more than 20 years, the Pruitt brothers' harmony vocal style sets them apart in the contemporary music scene--leading one reviewer to refer to them as the "Everly Brothers of Blues". David's "big guitar" and Dick's howling vocals over soulful, right-on rhythm playing make this trio a powerhouse.

Robin and Linda WilliamsFor more than four decades now, Robin & Linda Williams have made it their mission to perform the music that they love, "a robust blend of bluegrass, folk, old-time and acoustic country that combines wryly observant lyrics with a wide-ranging melodicism." Today some might call it "Americana," but these two revered music masters were living and breathing this elixir 20 years before that label was turned into a radio format. Their stirring concerts have earned them a huge body of fans over the years. But as gifted songwriters Robin and Linda have earned an even rarer honor, the devotion and deep respect of their musical peers.

blaAfter spending much of the past year touring with the band Southern Hospitality, Damon Fowler is back with his third solo project for Blind Pig Records, Sounds of Home. Damon chose swamp blues master Tab Benoit to produce and record him at Tab’s rural Louisiana home studio, and their collaboration has resulted in Damon’s strongest effort to date. The tension between his measured, laid-back vocal delivery and the hallmark intensity of his guitar virtuosity has never been keener, and the stories told in his songwriting here – sometimes in collaboration with long-time writing partner Ed Wright and Benoit – exhibit a combination of depth, grace and humor very few of his contemporaries can match. Katy Guillen and the Girls plan to continue writing, performing, and touring into 2015 and beyond.  Their already sizable fanbase grows with every stop they make, allowing them to spread their infectious and original mix of classic American genres from the heartland of Kansas City to music lovers around the world.

    Cate Brothers Weekend

    Doors open @ 6:30 & Show starts @ 8

nwpcatebrother cover.jpgArkansas-based Earl and Ernie Cate were prolific songwriters and singers who blended the blues with elements of rock & roll, country and rockabilly. Pianist/vocalist Ernie and guitarist/vocalist Earl signed to Asylum Records in 1975; their self-titled debut, issued shortly after, included appearances by Donald "Duck" Dunn, Steve Cropper, former Band drummer Levon Helm, and former Eagle and Poco member Timothy B. Schmidt. They followed up their debut in 1976 with In One Eye and Out the Other, trailed in 1977 by The Cate Brothers Band. Spurred by the success of the single "Union Man," 1979's Fire on the Tracks reached number 24 on the album rock charts in 1976.

Despite a dearth of recordings through the 1980s, the band remained a popular touring act in Tennessee, Arkansas and other strongholds of country rock and blues around the South. In the early '80s, Earl and Ernie joined Helm and others to form a reconstructed version of the Band, which by that point had lost guitarist Robbie Robertson; aside from touring with Helm, they also collaborated with blues singer Maria Muldaur. The Cate Brothers continued recording into the 1990s; in 1995, they issued Radioland, a unique hybrid of pop-oriented blues-rock, Stax-era soul-blues and country-rock on which they were joined by former John Mayall blues guitar phenom Coco Montoya. A new album, Play by the Rules, was released in 2004. ~ Richard Skelly, Rovi

Royal Southern Brotherhood and it’s our 1200th Show at Uncle Bo’s

    Doors open @ 6:30 & Show starts @ 8

Royal Southern BrotherhoodWhen the five members of Royal Southern Brotherhood convened in February at Dockside Studios, Louisiana, there was magic in the air. Just seven days later, the acclaimed US soul-blues collective emerged triumphant with The Royal Gospel: the fourth album in their rocket-heeled rise and further proof of a lineup born to play together.

“What is the roux of the RSB? It’s the songs. There is the musical content, the lyrical content, and what you feel your purpose is. Whatever the configuration was, as far as the men making the music and playing the songs, the mission of the band has never changed.”

For the band’s legions of fans around the world, this CD represents the birth of a bold new Royal Southern Brotherhood, a band not afraid to speak its mind with timely songs whose messages reflect the world this band sees every day.

WebTinsleyTinsley Ellis has travelled a million miles, and through that journey he has become a man with clarity about where he stands today and his future destination. As a proud Georgia-based artist, with his new album Red Clay Soul he celebrates a legacy built on four decades of performing, recording and song writing. Travelers headed to Florida or other destinations in the Southeastern U.S. encounter red clay embankments as they hit the state of Georgia, and Ellis has chosen to title this new collection Red Clay Soul to celebrate the music of the area. He offers, "Georgia is where the Blues has got Soul. From the gospel inspired Ray Charles, to the R&B of James Brown and Otis Redding, to the Rock and Roll of Little Richard, to the Blues Rock of The Allman Brothers Band, all these acts have one thing in common. They all have the sound of Georgia and down here we call that sound red clay soul."

    Earl & Them

    Doors open @ 6:30 show begins @ 8pm

WebsiteEarlEarl and Them had been playing together for several years prior to this recording. Jimmy Thackery and David Renko would sit in on occasions. David more frequently because he lived and worked in the area, Jimmy less. Although Jimmy lived in Busch, AR, he still maintained a rigorous national touring act. When the fellows got together, the results were spectacular and the word got around that this was an incredible show. The guys would play off of each other and trade ferocious leads of guitar and sax. Much of the best work came when the guys jammed. Then, Jimmy and Earl would get into a zone and trade licks of epic proportions. And David, not to be outdone, would respond with his own breathtaking leads. Jimmy has told Earl that what they do on stage together should not be able to be done, and that he can only do this with Earl. These guys can create and improvise on stage with the best. This stuff is rarely rehearsed and no two shows are alike.

    Hector Anchondo

    Doors open @ 6:30 show begins @ 8pm

WebsiteHectorHector Anchondo doesn’t just play the blues— he lives and breathes the blues. At 16-years-old, the budding musician picked up his first guitar and never looked back. He began an instant love affair with the instrument, especially Fenders. Born in Omaha, but raised seven miles outside of Salem, Missouri, Anchondo was able to take advantage of the tranquil farm life and learn guitar at a steady pace. He was drawn to those artists who played Fender Stratocasters like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Eric Clapton, but also respected the country greats such as Johnny Cash and Hank Williams Sr. As he got older, his propensity for music only intensified. After playing countless shows at family gatherings and hole-in-the-wall dive bars, Anchondo made the move back to Omaha, Nebraska in 2000. His first official recording, Rookies of the Year, was with his first band, Anchondo, and featured more energetic, Latin-influenced grooves. Recorded by the infamous A.J. Mogis of Presto! Studios (and later Saddle Creek Records), the album funded any touring for the next few years. With a home base in Omaha, it made traveling much easier. $10 advance, $12 door.

    Anthony Gomes

    Doors open @ 6:30 show begins @ 8pm

WebsiteAnthonyG#1 Billboard blues artist, Anthony Gomes, is propelling blues rock into the contemporary music culture with his unapologetic approach to reinventing the genre in relevant and fresh ways. “The blues is old, but not tired” said Anthony, adding: “It speaks as truthfully today, and for this generation, as it ever has.”  Blues Music Magazine writes that, "the formidable guitar chops and authentic singing place him in the forefront of modern blues."  This, along with his high-energy shows and dynamic stage presence, make him one of the top draws on the Rock/Blues circuit today.  And the facts speak for themselves. Gomes has performed in 17 countries and has shared the stage with B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Robert Plant, Joe Bonamassa, Heart, Jonny Lang, Sammy Hagar, 38 Special, Robert Cray and Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

The Toronto singer/songwriter/guitarist, has been creating virtuosic, burning blues since his recorded debut in 1998. 12 releases and numerous awards and ecstatic accolades later, Gomes shows no signs of slowing down with his latest musical offering being his most successful to date.  The aptly-named riff-laden Electric Field Holler crackles with bare wire passion and has received highly acclaimed recognition; reaching #1 on Roots Music Report's Blues Rock Chart, hitting #1 on ReverbNation’s Global Blues Chart and earning several nominations for Blues Rock Album of the Year.

    Kaopectones

    Doors open @ 6:30 show begins @ 8pm

WebsiteKaopectonesThe Kaopectones are Kansas City's most unique "Rock" musical offering. Four veteran players reproducing timeless music from 4 decades of Rock. And all without the use of prerecorded or sequenced backing tracks, Auto-Tune, or other gadgets and tricks designed to fool the listener. Real music played by real people. The way it is supposed to be.

Make no mistake, The Kaopectones are, first and foremost, a "Rock" band. They chose the "Rock" designation, as it encompasses much more than the traditional sub genre labels like "Rock and Roll", "Classsic Rock", "Pop Rock" or "Progressive Rock". The Kaopectones run the entire spectrum, stylistically, while never forgetting that the "Rock" attitude and approach are what drives all of the music they play. Loud and proud, with the edge and drive necessary to put the music across to the listener in the manner envisioned by the original artists.

They ramped up the electric gear and with the line-up complete they began playing regularly in the Midwest and built a following due to there brand of energetic blues and rock with strong harmony vocals. They continued as weekend warriors for twelve years and then split to pursue other projects but continued to re-unite for "special" shows. 20 years later the band is fully re-united and the energy is at its highest level ever!
